Salary: £23,660 FTE Actual Salary: £14,196
Initial 1 year contract with possible extension to permanent contract

We are looking for a part-time Operations Co-ordinator to work 21 hours per week to take charge of the day-to-day administration and monitoring of our music therapy projects and to assist the Director in researching and setting up new areas of work throughout the Borough. This is an opportunity to be part of a small, dedicated, friendly team and to experience the joy of seeing people with disabilities or long-term health conditions flourish through music.
About Us:
The Otakar Kraus Music Trust was founded in 1991 and provides music therapy and music projects for over 330 people of all ages with learning, physical, psychological or neurological difficulties in order improve their mental well-being and quality of life, and allow them to reach their potential.
We provide 1-1 and small group music therapy in schools and at our venues in Hanworth and Twickenham. We run OK Music Club for young children with disabilities at Skylarks Charity, online group music therapy for people with neurological conditions with INS and online groups for elderly people with Homelink Respite Day Care Centre. We hope to soon restart groups with Richmond Borough Mind. We run an OK Youth Choir for all abilities and our OK Music School where 70 children and young people with disabilities are learning to play an instrument and perform in 2 annual public concerts bringing self-esteem and joy.
OKMT is run by a Board of 7 Trustees, has 6 self-employed music theraptists, a full-time Director and 3 part-time staff – Fundraising Manager, Accounts Administrator and OK Music School Co-ordinator.
The Role:
This is a varied role with opportunities to become involved with the community and improve the lives of people with disabilities. Be in charge of the day-to-day running and monitoring of our music therapy projects, oversee the running of OK Music School and supervise the OK Music School Co-ordinator. Report to the Director and assist her in researching and setting up new areas of work particularly in the East of the Borough. This role will become the first point of contact for phone calls and emails and will include considerable liaison between therapists, clients, venues, and our partners in the community. It is based at home with meetings throughout the Borough so own transport is essential. Assistance with other tasks such as community fundraising events will be included in the role. There will be a few occasions of evening or weekend work. Induction and Training Period provided.
If you have experience of administering projects and liaising with stakeholders, plus good IT and organisational skills, have an interest in music or the aims of our charity and are able to work on your own initiative, then we would love to hear from you.
