OK Music Collective is a new Monday evening music group for 18-30+ years old with additional needs including existing OK Music School students, as well as other young adults with an interest in making music.
When: 7.30pm – 8.30pm on Monday evenings for 12 weeks from 28th April to Monday 21st July (no session during half term week)
Where: Hanworth Methodist Church, Churchfields Avenue, Hanworth TW13 5NT
This is a pilot project which we hope will become a long-term activity for young people.
For more information or to sign up email: info@okmtrust.org.uk
Participants will be encouraged to make choices and play an active role in shaping their music-based learning. They will choose 3 different pieces of music from different genres to work on each week and be encouraged to adapt them, playing different musical instruments and singing. A relaxing activity will take place at the end of each session.
We expect the young people will perform at our summer concert or to parents at the end of the project to share their learning. We also hope to arrange a few trips for the young people to local venues to watch some concerts/gigs performed by local artists.
The project will be run by Matt Sheath and Anna Young, both of whom are experienced musicians and teachers who have worked with young people with additional needs.
