🎶A six-hour Music Marathon full of joy! 💛
What a joyful, uplifting day of music we had at our third Music Marathon on the 17th October!

We exceeded our target of £10k to help continue to fund our largest project – OK Music School. OK Music School provides specialist music lessons for children and young people with additional needs, opening up a creative world of musical expression, confidence, performance and connection.

The non-stop music marathon brought together local musicians who generously gave their time to perform in support of OKMT, with sponsors backing their performances.

The variety of performers was fantastic – from pop, opera and classic standards to recorder groups, piano duos sharing a single piano, and the terrific acoustic trio Kissmet. Our fabulous Patron Cllr (and Mayor) Nancy Baldwin sang three songs brilliantly too! There really was something for everyone.

A very special thank you to the wonderful actress Tara Fitzgerald, known for Brassed Off and many other film and stage productions, who kept the whole six-hour event flowing beautifully as MC.

👏 Huge thanks to all the musicians who performed, everyone who sponsored them, made a donation or bought raffle tickets, and all those who helped make this such a memorable celebration of music and inclusion. The Music Marathon showed us all just how powerful music can be in bringing people together and making a difference 💛🎵
We hope you enjoy the photos from the day. Many thanks to volunteer Erika Law for taking these for us.

You can still support this event and help break down barriers for children and young people with disabilities https://lnkd.in/e7Vn6nk2
