OKMT 30th Anniversary

OKMT was founded in 1991 by Dr Margaret Lobo, in memory of opera singer and voice coach, Otakar Kraus. From small beginnings in Margaret’s living room, OKMT is now helping hundreds of children, young people and adults with additional needs throughout the Borough of Richmond and beyond, to express themselves and gain confidence through the power of music. In 2018, OKMT became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a new charity number, putting it on a more sustainable footing. During the pandemic of 2020 and 2021, we adapted our services to online working, helping some of the most isolated and vulnerable people in the community to express themselves and form bonds with others.
