OKMT Christmas Concert
“It was a brilliant show. I was a bit emotional by the final numbers and the band at the end. Our son loved watching it and taking part.”
What a wonderful event our 11th Christmas Concert was last Saturday in the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Twickenham. It was a heart-warming, up tempo and above all happy occasion with nearly 50 children and young people performing. As well as individual recitals, we heard from the OK Youth Choir, Ukulele Group and OK Music School Band.
We were so glad to welcome the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, Cllr Julia Cambridge, our patron, Cllr Nancy Baldwin and our Ambassador, Lord Lee. We also welcomed Martin Seymour, Chair of Hampton Fund, which has supported OK Music School for many years, along with 2 fellow Trustees, and representatives of other organisations supporting our work – Heathrow Community Trust, The Hospital Saturday Fund, Petersham Nurseries and The Arts Society Kingston.
A huge thank you to all the therapists, teachers, staff, trustees and our wonderful volunteers who made the event so magical.
“Saturday’s Christmas Concert was the highlight of the year for my daughter. Music is life for her and to be able to perform in front of an audience and be free to express herself through music was a Godsent opportunity.”
