OKMT CHRISTMAS CONCERTS
How fabulous were our 2 Christmas Concerts last Saturday at St Mary’s Church, Twickenham, with a range of performances on piano, drums, guitar and voice and of course our wonderful OK Music School Band, OK Youth Choir, OK Ukulele Group and the new OK Music Collective, bringing the day to a close in their own innovative style.
Many thanks to The Mayor of Richmond-upon-Thames, Cllr Penny Frost for attending our first concert and presenting exam and Jack Petchey Award certificates, and to Sir Vince Cable for making the presentations in our second concert. Thank you also to our comperes – our Patron, Cllr Nancy Baldwin, and Jeremy Bradbear-Hector, who is retiring after presenting our concerts since the very first in 2013 – massive thanks to him from us all.
We were delighted to welcome so many guests and supporters to the concerts and thank them and all our funders for enabling us to produce these wonderful events.
Thank you to everyone who helped organise the concerts, our Trustees and other volunteers on the day. And a huge thank you to our music therapists and teachers, Edison, Carmem, Sophie, Chrissy, Elaine, Anna, Matthew, Oscar, Sara, Rachel and Tara for the amazing results they are achieving with their students.
It was inspiring and joyful to see the developing talent of the young people and their pride as they perform.
